The flight has landed at Manchester Airport

A Jet2 flight from Glasgow to Tenerife was forced to divert Manchester airport due to a technical failure in flight.

Pbadengers on the LS155 flight departed Glasgow airport at approximately 08:55 on Sunday to the Canary Islands.

However, the plane was forced to return to the UK while flying over Cork in the Republic of Ireland.

The flight then landed safely in Manchester, where local fire crews would have waited.

A spokeswoman for Jet2 confirmed that the diversion was the result of a "minor technical fault" of the aircraft.
