EL CAJON, California – A nursing student now has a way of working and studying through the kindness of a stranger.

KGTV said Kayla Cooper was at a used car dealership in El Cajon, California, and was trying to get a lower down payment for a car. Dan Laguardia, listening to Cooper's discussions with a salesman, was at the dealership to trade his Scion xB. He said he could say that the conversation was not going the way Cooper would like it.

"I can say in a way that she did not understand why she was there," said Laguardia.

Cooper left the compound crying.

According to KGTV, the nursing student borrowed cars from family and friends to get to work. She added that she was at risk of losing her job if she could not get her own car by the end of the month.

Laguardia told KGTV that he had asked the seller to recall Cooper and offered him his vehicle.

He did not charge anything to Cooper for the vehicle.

"I was shaking," said Cooper. "It's an entire car. How can anyone be so generous to give his car?
