Ariana Grande won the Best Popular Vocal Album Award at the 61st Grammy Awards. His fourth studio album Sweetener won the honor by beating Camila Cabello's albums (Camila), Kelly Clarkson (The meaning of life), Shawn Mendes (Shawn Mendes), P! Nk (Beautiful trauma) and Taylor Swift (reputation). Tonight marks the first time that Ariana won a Grammy and, as promised, she was not present to accept the award. She has also been nominated for best vocal pop performance (for "God is a Woman"). Great thanked him in a series of tweets.

This week, Grande revealed on social media that she would not participate in the Grammys after a dispute with the producers of the series on a planned performance. Producer Ken Ehrlich said in an interview that Grande "felt that it was too late for her to gather anything" for the series. Great replied, "I kept my mouth shut, but now you lie to me. I can organize a performance all night and you know it, Ken. That's when your creativity and self-expression were smothered that I decided not to attend. Ehrlich called his tweets "surprise."
