A dog fearing to have a brain tumor has fully recovered after it was found that a needle was lodged in his neck.
Owners of the Yorkshire Terrier Toby took their animals to the vet after noticing that he had neck pain, walking difficulties, and signs of seizures.
The vet in Nairn suspected the 13-year-old dog had a brain tumor and took X-rays off Toby's head.
However, the x-rays revealed that he actually had a 7 cm metal sewing needle with tied wire lodged in his neck, piercing his spine and getting dangerously close to his brain.

During the operation, they used specialized X-ray equipment to visualize the needle in real time, an approach allowing surgeons to carefully remove the object without resorting to an invasive operation.
Toby has recovered well since the needle was retired in August 2018 and he is now back to running and is walking normally.

It is not known how the needle ended up in Toby's neck, but veterinarians suspect that he could have eaten it or put his head on it.
