Grab Singapore plans to bend GrabFood under the main Grab app in the course of the first half of 2019. This comes from the moment GrabFood aims to be the leading food delivery application in Singapore by the end of May 2019, in terms of order volume, shortest delivery time and the widest choice of food vendors, reported Business time (BT).

This has also been confirmed for Marketing by Singapore spokesman Grab, who added that this initiative was intended to provide users with a more transparent experience. Marketing has contacted Grab for additional information.

Citing at the head of Grab Singapore Lim Kell Jay, BT said having a single platform with both transportation and food delivery options offered Grab Singapore the opportunity that "pure rivals" could not duplicate. He added that the company was actively developing a consumer base that routinely performs transactions using the main Grab application. Its goal now is to offer a food delivery service via the main application to generate more transactions with its merchants. BT I said.

In the meantime, Grab's spokesman said he was also considering creating a central kitchen for GrabFood in Singapore. This is in addition to the one already in Jakarta. Central kitchens established in Singapore by food delivery services include foodpanda favorites and Deliveroo Editions kitchens.

Last month, it was announced that Grab would get a new headquarters in Singapore, whose cost is estimated at 181.2 million dollars. The new headquarters is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2020 and will house all of its employees in Singapore.
