Benfica dominated the Nacional Madeira 10-0 in the Portuguese Premier League on Sunday to be one point behind leader Porto.
Observed by 55,000 spectators inside the Stadium of Light, Alex Grimaldo opened the scoring in the first minute, but 20 minutes pbaded before Haris Seferovic scored the first of his two goals.
Swiss international Seferovic finished in the 27th minute in the 27th minute. Benfica took the advantage 3-0.
The valves opened in the second half with Joao Felix, a penalty kick from Pizzi, Ferro, Ruben Dias, Jonas with a corset and Rafa Silva, all on the scoresheet.
According to the BBC, this is the biggest win in 54 years in the Portuguese league after Benfica's victory over Seixal 11-3 in 1965.
Benfica have now scored 57 goals in 21 league games, while Nacional, who already had the worst defensive record in the first division, conceded 45 goals.
Sunday's defeat came just three weeks after France's PSG scored nine goals ahead of Guingamp in Ligue 1.
