What was the Premier League table when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at Man Utd

The transformation of Man Utd under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues as the victory at Fulham places them in the top four for the first time this season.

Paul Pogba gave the advantage to Sergio Rico, who made a mistake and did not manage to get his hands on the shot of the Frenchman pbading near his next post.

Anthony Martial then doubled United's lead less than 25 minutes later, before Pogba added his second goal – and United's third goal – from the penalty spot.

The victory put United over Chelsea, who missed his chance to regain his Champions League spot with a crushing 6-0 defeat at champions home Manchester City on Sunday.

The goals of Sergio Aguero (three), Raheem Sterling (two) and Ilkay Gundogan allowed United's neighbors to stay in the top four by getting away from the high flying competition.

The men of Solskjaer will now face PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday before visiting the injured team of Maurizio Sarri in the England Cup on Monday 18 February.

Here's what the Premier League table looked like when Solskjaer took the reins at Old Trafford …

Solskjaer has turned around. He inherited a team that was 11 points behind the top four after a disappointing opening of the campaign under José Mourinho.

Many had already written United before the race for a place in the Champions League before Christmas, but 25 points collected out of 27 available in the Premier League propelled the Red Devils into the race.

The 2-2 draw with Burnley at Old Trafford in January was the only disappointment of Solskjaer's reign so far. Even then, United fought back 2-0 at one point in less than 10 minutes to play.

Solskjaer said: "I think we have taken up most of the challenges, perhaps of course the setback of the two Burnley goals we have conceded, maybe they will take us to the next level because I think we have given ourselves a chance now to get into the top four maybe sooner than expected.

This is what the table looks like now …
