AC Milan 3-0 Cagliari: report, standings and reactions as Rossoneri is on his way to a comfortable victory

AC Milan regained fourth place in Serie A with a comfortable 3-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday night.

Milan started well and was ahead after 13 minutes with a goal from Luca Ceppitelli. Alessio Cragno could only bring Suso's effort back into the danger zone and the ball bounced directly on the unfortunate Ceppitelli and the bottom of the empty net.

The race for the first four of Serie A begins to heat up and, with Atalanta, Roma and Lazio winning, Milan knew that they needed nothing less than three points to get back into place.

Not only did they win the match, but they did it convincingly. Paqueta and the month of January Piatek seems to have breathed new life into I Rossoneri, adding an extra dynamic that was lacking in the early stages of the season.

Gennaro Gattuso's men have a good form at the right time and, with so many parties fighting for regularity this season, they may only need a few more victories to earn a spot in the Champions League.
