Tottenham Hotspur will face Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris told the London Evening Standard that he needed help from fans against Borussia Dortmund.
Sunday's 3-1 win over Leicester City was essential, but it was not the most impressive of Mauricio Pochettino's men's displays, as the Foxs presented a real threat.
At 1-0, Leicester had missed a penalty to Lloris and the Spurs have escaped from prison seeing the men of Claude Puel despite the threat that threatened them.
Most fans of the Spurs will admit that it was far from being their best performance of the season and that it will take them much better Wednesday night to face Borussia Dortmund.
The Spurs are back in action in the Champions League on Wednesday as they face Dortmund in the last 16 games of the competition, having crossed the group stages of the last match.
Dortmund may be without the injured star Marco Reus, but he is five points behind Bayern in the Bundesliga and will surely cause big problems for the Spurs.
Lloris acknowledged that it was "difficult" to play at Wembley and called on the fans to really help the Spurs players face a "very, very difficult" match against Dortmund.
Lloris also warned his teammates, suggesting that they really needed to improve significantly after Sunday's game, believing that a "bigger team" than Leicester would have beaten them, and that "there's a lot more to do". they can not afford to play like that against Dortmund.
"It will be very, very difficult," said Lloris. "We need to improve the team's performance compared to yesterday and we need the stadium to help us. Some days, it is difficult to deal with Wembley but, hopefully, in this great match, we will receive this help from the crowd. Leicester was fantastic and we won the match with our spirit and character. Without that, we could not win. [But] we need to improve the team's performance. "
"We could not have won this type of match against a bigger side. It depends on us. But the most important thing was to get three more points in a difficult time. We kept the consistency, so it's a great feeling in the locker room. Leicester had 20 shots and it would be difficult to win this way against a bigger camp. But sometimes you deserve to win, like the match against Man United, and you lose. Yesterday, Leicester deserved better but we won. This is the league. The mentality is excellent in the locker room and we showed it again on a difficult day, "he added.
