The former Chelsea midfielder, Emmanuel Petit, has been questioned about the use of N "Golo Kante by Maurizio Sarri this season, and said that Jorginho" is not the ideal solution for the Premier League ".
Sarri was criticized for his move from Kante following his purchase of Jorginho, with whom he also worked in Napoli.
The Italian international, born in Brazil, settled in the middle of the midfield, forcing Kante to take a more offensive stance.
Since his arrival in English football with Leicester City in 2015, the 27-year-old had however shined in a deeper role. He had won the Premier League in his first two campaigns and the PFA Player of the Year title in 2016/17 – his first season at Chelsea.
"Sarri's decision to move Kante from his original position, where he was probably the best in the world in the last two or three years, has surprised me," Petit told Paddy Power News.
"Kante says that he is learning and enjoying this new position.
"He does not want to make waves – we all know in France how humble Kante is, so he will never cause problems.
"But can anyone explain why you're moving Kante out of his best position for Jorginho?"
Petit – who played 76 games with Chelsea between 2001 and 2004 – has criticized the signing of Jorginho, who has recorded the highest number of Premier League league games this season without registering help.
"I had never heard of Jorginho before he came to Chelsea, and I have nothing against him, but he is not made for the Premier League," he said. .
"When you have players playing so well in a certain position, why would you move them somewhere else?"
