Three US soldiers were injured in a parachute crash at the Homestead Airbase early Tuesday morning, according to the military group.
All three were airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital after the Miami-Dade fire department responded to a 4:06 call.
The soldiers jumped with the service's Golden Knights paratrooper demonstration team, based in Fort Bragg, NC, but overwintered at Homestead.
They were conducting "night operations" when something went wrong during the free fall around 4 am, said Golden Knights civilian employee Donna Dixon.
The details of the accident, the identity of the soldiers and the extent of the injuries were not revealed pending the notification of the families of the victims.
Staff Sgt. Robert Dodge, an army spokesman, said the accident was under investigation.
Gold Knights are under the command of Army Recruitment. They can be seen skydiving at events across the country, including bowling, professional sporting events and parades.
