Pirlo, Pogba & Alves – Ramsey wants to join Juve's best gifts

The transfer of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus was confirmed on Monday as the Arsenal midfielder signed a pre-contract contract with the Bianconeri.

The Welsh international was out of contract at Emirates Stadium at the end of the season and has committed for the next four years with Juventus under a contract that will would bring in £ 400,000 a week.

Ramsey however is far from being the first star to travel to Turin by a free transfer.

Juventus has taken a number of smart initiatives in the transfer market in recent years. We are looking at those who followed this path at the end of their contracts.

ANDREA PIRLO

The World Cup winner, Pirlo, was used sparingly during his last season at AC Milan in 2010-11, thus making the decision to leave the club at the end of the campaign. But the Rossoneri failed to consolidate their title and Pirlo joined Juventus, where he won the Scudetto the following season. He also won the championship title in all three seasons before moving to MLS.

PAUL POGBA

Pirlo playing a bigger role in Turin, the signing of Paul Pogba in 2012 was allowed to move. The Frenchman had not been given a first team at Manchester United and that cost the Premier League giants, who spent 89 million pounds sterling in a club record on Pogba, four years later and four titles in Serie A. In terms of return on the pitch and in monetary terms, it was an excellent deal for Juventus.

KINGSLEY COMAN

Although different from Pirlo or Pogba on the field, Coman was another Juventus signing that proved an economic victory. Reducing his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, the winger moved to Juventus and was impressed enough in 15 appearances in Serie A to win the transfer to Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga champions granted a loan of two years in 2015 for an amount of 7 million euros, which allowed to conclude the agreement up to 21 million euros.

SAMI KHEDIRA

With the departure of Pirlo and Arturo Vidal in 2015, Khedira was tempted by Juventus with the promise of a regular action. The German international has helped maintain Bianconeri's dominant position in Serie A since and has recorded the best season of his career in 2017-18 with nine league goals in just 26 matches.

DANI ALVES

Alves has arrived at Juventus from Barcelona as a veteran option for the 2016-17 season. It remained only for this campaign, but its impact was enormous. Mbadimiliano Allegri's men won Serie A and Coppa Italia. Alves scored in the final of the latter. The Brazilian has led Juve to the final of the Champions League, although ultimately disappointing. They were beaten by Real Madrid, but he had been inspired against Monaco in the last four.
