An Australian woman had a few weeks to live after visiting the hospital with a headache, and she was told it was because she had end-stage brain cancer.
Bill Lancaster-Scully, mother of two children from the Gold Coast, learned two months ago that she was suffering from two aggressive brain tumors.
Although the first could have been removed, the second quadrupled in size and caused him excruciating pain, swelling and partial blindness, reports The Daily Mail.
The second tumor can not be removed because it is located too close to Mrs. Lancaster-Scully's brainstem.
Her sister Sally Kulig set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Mrs. Lancaster-Scully and her family.
"Two months ago, my sister Bec Lancaster-Scully was a happy, healthy 36-year-old woman," she wrote in the description of the page.
"If not fit and healthy, she enjoyed cycling, playing Pilates and playing with her two boys – until a severe migraine sent her to the doctor where she received the news fateful."
"Since then, he has been diagnosed with grade 4 primary glioblastoma with rhabdoid subtype brain cancer, AKA."
The survival time for this type of cancer is only 12 to 18 months. Ms. Kullig told the Sunshine Coast Daily that her sister's time was limited.
"If she gets out enough and gets well enough to have radiation, she could live six months, otherwise she would have four weeks."
The family of Mrs. Lancaster-Scully is heartbroken by the news, especially after the birth of their youngest son in 2013, suffering from heart disease requiring surgery.
The tragedy struck again, after Mrs. Lancaster-Scully gave birth to a full-term baby, who was unfortunately already dead.
She and her husband, Joel, face "a horrible and uncertain future," according to Kulig.
The GoFundMe page already reaches 70,640 Australian dollars (73 590 New Zealand dollars) after only five days of activity.
The funds will go to Mrs. Lancaster-Scully's medical bills and her family.
