Ole Gunnar Solskjaer saw his party slow down and then quit twice in ten.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warned his Manchester United team that anyone "would feel sorry for themselves" after the Champions League defeat against Paris Saint-Germain would be eliminated.
United will face Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday and Solskjaer wants his players to fight back to Carrington to prepare for the trip to Stamford Bridge.
"We will have Chelsea and Liverpool in the next two games, so those who feel sorry for themselves will not play the next game," said Solskjaer. "Do not feel sorry for yourself, it's a higher level than we are used to."
The goals of Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe in the second period ensured that PSG would remain the favorite to advance before the second leg in Paris, but Solskjaer has not lost the hope of causing a shock at Parc des Princes.
"The reaction in the locker room is a disappointment, but when we go to Paris, we will try the experiment," he said. "It will be difficult and it is a mountain to climb but it is not impossible."
After 10 wins in 11 games, Solskjaer admitted that the French champion had given them a "reality test". However, the Norwegian was frustrated after seeing Kimpembe score the first goal of Angel Di Maria's corner after being given a chance to escape a second yellow card before halftime. Instead, it was United who received the only red card of the match when Paul Pogba was sacked in the 89th minute.
"[Kimpembe] was very lucky and the way he throws [Marcus] Rashford went down to the ground and we have no fault, said Solskjaer. It's no use that I'm sitting here and talking about it.
"We are disappointed not to have Paul for the next game, it's a blow because it has been fantastic for us."
Solskjaer also urged Alexis Sanchez to help herself in her quest for form after a dull new performance. The Chilean was largely anonymous after his arrival as a substitute in the first period and then Solskjaer insisted that it be his turn to return to his best.
"I can not do anything against Alexis Sanchez," said Solskjaer. "When he plays, he has to meet because there is a quality player out there."
