The current government has created a series of controversies due to the creation of new regions and the establishment of regional capitals in the country, because there is currently a territorial war between the different communities, one of them from among them becomes the regional capital.
There were sharp disagreements and, in some cases, outbreaks of violence between various stakeholders and government-appointed representatives about the location of regional capitals after the successful referendum held last year.
Rather than holding press conferences and forums addressing the Minister of Regional Reorganization or the President in order to be heard in Accra, the residents of Kete Krachi have applied for capital at a higher level – they addressed it to God.
Residents of Keta Krachi in Krachi West District held a large prayer session with the aim of becoming the capital of the new Oti region.

Most Ghanaians believe that having regional capital in their region leads to mbadive development, but some political badysts have said the opposite.
"Yesterday, while I was in church, I learned that all the Christians in the enclave were supposed to meet in a particular church in Keta Krachi and pray for Keta Krachi to become the regional capital. And God will touch the hearts of all the other districts so that no one feels distressed, but they should unite in unity and solidarity to see how they can move the region forward. The NPP government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2016 election campaign promised to create more regions with the aim of accelerating the country's development.
However, a commission was set up and a referendum was held in the regions where the new region was to be created: Nord-Est, Savane, Oti, Bono-Est, Ahafo and Nord-Nord were created.
This indicates that Ghana will soon add 6 additional regions to the existing 10, making 16 regions in total.
