Ghanaian defender Samuel Sarfo was targeted by the Iranian team Saipa FC on Tuesday night, while Indian club Minerva FC was scored four goals to zero in the Asian Champions League.
The former skipper of Liberty Professionals was the brightest point at Takhti Stadium in Tehran, where he had a brilliant defensive performance.
Sarfo scored the third goal of his team in 73rd place with a fantastic header after Arash Rezavand and Arman Ramezani opened the scoring in the 8th and 24th minutes, respectively.
Arash Rezavand completed the game with Saipa's fourth goal in the 81st minute.
The return match is scheduled for next week in India.
