An Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) poll found that former President John Mahama would defeat incumbent President Akufo-Addo if elections were held today. .

According to the survey, which sampled some 16,000 Ghanaians out of a population of 800,000, Mr. Mahama is also more popular among non-registered voters than the six other candidates competing for the NDC flag bearer.

The report further revealed that just over 30% of the Ghanaian population would be influenced by the government's SHS policy during the vote.
