Actress Kafui Danku
According to statistics provided by UNICEF, about 41.6% of the child population in Ghana would be married before the age of 18.
These alarming statistics have prompted actress Kafui Danku, one of the ambbadadors against the UNICEF campaign, to speak out against the unforgivable act.
In an Facebook message from the actress seen by zionfelix.net, Kafui expressed concern over the problem. She points out that the institution of marriage is complex and that people who can not understand the essentials of life should not force children to understand such an institution.
She goes on to describe other very unpleasant facts about child marriage. Check out his full post below:
"I'm worried about the reason that motivated the marriage of little girls …
People, let's be tough with the truth and say so, if marriage: does not give a man the right to "rape" his wife, CHILD MARRIAGE must be treated with disdain!
Marriage is too complicated a thing to impose on a little girl, and as if that were not enough, she should give birth to her, all before the age of voting. Let's face it; adult men and women leave marriage because they do not understand it enough to support it.
He is not a man if he intentionally and knowingly seeks to harm a little girl he is supposed to protect.
Afua Hesse, the first pediatric surgeon in Ghana, about 3 years ago. This is just one example among so many of what our little girls can become.
We can not overestimate the need for society to protect our young people, our future and especially our SMALL GIRLS. There is no point in forcing them into such uncomfortable situations. All we do in doing this is not only to stifle their development and potential, but also to put them through a lot of mental, physical and emotional suffering because they are often treated as human beings. prisoners and slaves.
MARRIAGE IS NOT THE ULTIMATE OBJECTIVE OR ACQUISITION of a woman …. This is a call to all, let the girls become something more.
On the podium, after each feat, all speeches recognize two beings, a GOD and a MOTHER. This tells us that the role and importance of women who become mothers play in our lives. Let's keep this in mind when we need a little girl to become one.
What experience will she have to raise her children, what experience will she have to support her husband, what impact will she have on their lives? If she was not allowed to see her potential. Being a little girl should not hurt!
Behind every successful man, it is said that this is a woman, NOT a child!
