Take a look at Honda's Urban EV dashboard

Honda's future Urban EV is one of the most anticipated vehicles at the Geneva Motor Show next month. As a spiritual (and technological) successor to the legendary Civic hatchback, the Urban EV will sport a suite of high-tech toys, features and features when it goes on sale soon (unfortunately in Europe). Honda dribbled details on the vehicle for over a year and – just in time for Geneva – revealed what its dashboard and dashboard would look like.

As you can see in the image above, the Urban EV's split dashboard will offer what is becoming the standard features of vehicles and smart vehicles: navigation, calls hands-free, a personal badistant an array of various EV system statuses. Drivers will also have access to USB, Bluetooth and even HDMI inputs.

But perhaps the most exciting feature shown in the teaser image is located on the faux wood panel immediately beneath the screens. No, not the parking brake button – it's the volume knob and the audio power button. Trying to adjust the volume or turn off the radio when either of these features is virtualized on a touch screen (Tesla, looking at you) is not a pain, it creates unnecessary distraction while driving. By opting for a physical and haptic interface, Honda has facilitated the future with the audio system without leaving the road of the eyes.

We will have full coverage of the 2019 Geneva Auto Show when it opens in March, so stay tuned, everyone.
