Amazon has resumed a third season of "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan".
Amazon studio executive Jennifer Salke made the announcement on Wednesday during the Television Critics Association press tour.
Produced by Paramount Television, "Jack Ryan" was commissioned two seasons by Salke's predecessor, Roy Price, in 2016. Season 1 was presented at first reading by rather positive critics, especially star John Krasinski, who plays the role of holder of the CIA.
"Compared to his rivals in the spying game, Ethan Hunt's" Mission: Impossible "and Jason Bourne, Jack Ryan seems downright heroic in his ability to adapt to a time when the automatic presumption that the America is doing what it is worth doing is on the agenda to decline, "commented critic Daniel Addario in his review of the first four episodes of the season. He added, "Krasinski's Ryan is powered by data and a willingness to listen. It has more ambitious and more humane goals than just securing another American century.
In addition to Paramount, the series is produced by Genre Arts of Cuse, Platinum Dunes by Michael Bay and Skydance Television by David Ellison. Cuse, Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are the executive producers. Lindsey Springer, Mace Neufeld, Vince Calandra, Andrew Bernstein and Ellison of Skydance, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross will also be the executive producers of the second season, to be presented later this year under the direction of Allyson Seeger.
