The Brobbey Commission, consisting of 9 members, established that the creation of the region was a necessity and a significant demand, and that the time came for the constitutional threshold to be met on 27^th December 2018, referendum, 99.5% of the 85.82% of the electorate who voted, voted YES.

President Akufo-Addo badured that "this government, which facilitated the creation of this region, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, will help ensure the good start and development of Bono East."

"The creation of six new regions offers us the opportunity to better meet the needs of the inhabitants of these new regions through the effective reorganization and distribution of our public services and infrastructure.

To this end, he indicated that he had established a seven-member government commission within eight weeks of the proclamation of the results of the referendum to plan and oversee the rapid development of Bono East.

"In the President's 2019 budget, GH ¢ 20 million has been allocated to Bono East as seed capital to help set up the infrastructure needed to get off the ground well. region, he added.

President Akufo-Addo said that the current regional minister of Brong-Ahafo, the Hon. Evans Opoku-Bobie, MP, has been appointed Interim Minister.
