President Akufo-Addo announced what happened Wednesday, February 13 by introducing the Constitutional Instrument (C.I. 114) aimed at creating the region of Ahafo.

Addressing the rally, consisting of chiefs, elders and members of the new region, President Akufo-Addo noted that less than a week after the referendum declaration at Ahafo, it constituted a seven-member government committee chaired by the Minister of Justice. Regional Reorganization and Development, Hon. Dan Botwe, MP, charged with planning and overseeing the rapid development of the Ahafo region and the other five newly created regions.

"In the 2019 budget of the president, an amount of 20 million GH ¢ was allocated as seed capital for the smooth take-off of the region of Ahafo," added the president.
