It is still unclear how the oil spill occurred
An oil spill on a stretch of the Accra-Tema highway on Tuesday night caused skidding of at least four slippery road vehicles and disrupted traffic in the evening.
Joy News sources said the four cars that skidded struck pbadersby, causing serious injuries in a few cases.
However, according to eyewitnesses, the concrete road near the Trbadaco Valley – a residential area close to the highway – will likely remain slippery Wednesday morning if road safety authorities do not react quickly.
"The lack of lights on the highway does not help the problem," said an eyewitness on his Facebook account.
Motorists who approach this part of the highway are advised to drive with caution.
