Chelsea has made an offer of 45 million euros for the attacker of Eintracht Frankfurt, Luka Jovic, according to a report in Germany.
Despite the signing of Gonzalo Higuain in January, we still think that Chelsea is looking for an attacker with Olivier Giroud's contract which will expire at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old French striker joined the Arsenal Blues in January 2018, but he only signed an 18-month contract and, in accordance with the club's policy it should not be extended for one year, if at all.
And in Germany Bild reported that Chelsea had submitted an offer to the Bundesliga for 21-year-old striker Jovic, who is on fire this season.
Jovic, currently on loan from Frankfurt by Benfica, has scored 14 goals in 15 Bundesliga matches and scouts from all over Europe are watching his progress.
Spanish paper Marca insists that Barcelona has every interest in engaging the Bosnian-born striker after making Jovic a long-term potential substitute for Luis Suarez.
Bild reports that Bayern Munich is also enthusiastic and considers Jovic as the successor to their own thrilling sensation. He also claimed that Real Madrid is preparing to launch a 45 million euros offer.
The German source also said Liverpool was one of the main contenders to recruit the Serbian striker this summer after probing his agent on a possible move to Anfield.
According to Bild, Jovic's representative, Fali Ramadani, is currently in talks with Frankfurt to discuss possible options once the season is over.
Frankfurt has already announced to Benfica that he would exercise his right to buy Jovic at the end of the season and that it would be more likely than unlikely that he resold it immediately with Chelsea at the head of the pack with an offer of 39 million pounds sterling.
