Instant Family is in the theaters today, but before we leave, we have an exclusive clip showing potential parents, Pete and Ellie, meeting Lizzie for the first time.
The humorous film is based on real events and stars Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as two parents who adopt three young children, giving them an instant family.
They are soon over their heads with all that implies.
The film is directed by Sean Anders, who wrote the screenplay with John Morris based on his own experience. Instant Family has already been hailed by critics as comforting and serious.
Anders has already worked with Wahlberg on Daddy's Home, but relying on his own experiences gives this film a more personal touch.
Anders has adopted three children out of the foster care system with his wife Beth aged six, three and 18 months. In a letter he wrote for TIME, the director said: "I wanted to address a subject that I had not touched on in my own experience".
He added to a teenager to give a more complete picture – from where Lizzie.
