The Web version of Instagram is currently a little lighter. It could change soon. The network tests a web version of its direct messages.
Users will soon be able to send and receive direct messages in the Web version of Instagram. Jane Manchun Wong, developer of web applications, discovered the test and shared two screenshots on Twitter showing the new feature:

In December 2017, Instagram tested with direct a standalone application for news. Until now, there has been no worldwide deployment, which suggests that Instagram could not completely dissociate its messaging features from the current network. Current tests show that email is becoming more and more important for Instagram. This is also demonstrated by the recently introduced ability to send voice messages to Instagram. It is not yet known if and when the new web function for direct messages will be made available to all users.
Respond to Instagram posts in the Facebook page manager
A new push for direct news on Instagram Facebook had already announced Feb. 7. Site owners can, if they have linked their Facebook page to their Instagram account, respond to future Instagram posts via the Facebook mailbox.
This feature will be deployed in the coming weeks for Brazilian and American sites. For the global deployment, there is still no concrete information.
t3n says:
The private user should rather be less aware of this feature. Most likely, Instagram will use the webmail feature to target businesses that want to use even more Instagram to connect with their customers. The new feature, once deployed, should be a huge relief for social media managers and business website owners. Cornelia Dlugos
