The GHANA MTN Foundation has organized its 2019 "Save a Life" blood donation campaign to save the lives of people who need blood in all parts of Ghana.

At the ceremony held yesterday in Accra, Mr. Samuel Koranteng, head of corporate services, said that since the beginning of the 2011 Valentine's blood donation exercise, he had recorded many comforting stories about people whose lives had been saved.

"Some of these stories have been told by our own staff while others come from our customers. One of the stories that affected me so much was this: one of our clients whose baby was critically ill needed urgent blood transfusion. The baby was saved at the moment of death, "he said.

Mr. Koranteng said that MTN's Save a Life campaign was very critical and that they had made phenomenal progress with this initiative from the beginning.

He thanked the Foundation, the volunteer staff, and the donors who have worked hard to make the blood campaign come true.

He said: "On just over 100 liters of blood recorded in the first exercise, we have achieved great success. We hope to collect 3,500 pints from 19 bleeding centers in the 10 [old] regions of Ghana. Although ambitious, we look forward to doing so with the help and commitment of all. "

Mr Robert Kuzoe, Executive Secretary of the MTN Ghana Foundation, thanked his health partners from the National Blood Service and the medical teams at Korle Bu, 37 Hospital Hospital and Ridge Hospital.

According to him, Dr. Justina K Ansah said some time ago that the country needed only 1% of the population to make a voluntary and steady donation in order to have a sustainable blood supply. and save lives.

"It is with this knowledge that MTN Ghana encourages all Ghanaians to take part in this voluntary exercise of blood transfusion across the country because you never know who to save your life," he said.
