The FBI is examining allegations that Ryan Adams engaged in badual communications with a minor fan, the New York Times reports.

The New York Times Wednesday released a report outlining charges that several women came to discuss their experiences with Adams, including Mandy Moore and Phoebe Bridgers.

The report also included an interview with Ava, 20, who was only 14 years old when Adams began to correspond with her.

The temperature reviewed the 3,217 text messages that occurred between the two over a nine-month period, between 15 and 16 years of age.

Conversations took a graphic and badual turn, as Adam repeatedly asked about his age, Ava said, "I would be in trouble if anyone knew we were talking that way." The report indicates that Ava did not always answer honestly.

"I never see pictures of you again," Adams wrote in November 2014. "You were blowing my mind."

A few days later, he added, "If people knew, they would say that I was like R Kelley lol."

A few minutes later, the conversation became badual.

"I just want you to touch your nipple," he texted. "And tell me your mother is not going to kill me if she finds out that we even texted."

According to the report, Ava and Adams made video calls that sometimes included nudity, but they never met in person.

Adam's lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, says his client does not remember such interactions with Ava.

"Mr. Adams unequivocally denies that he ever engaged in inappropriate online bad communications with anyone he knew to be a minor," Brettler said.

Now, a law office with knowledge on the issue says to the Time they want to know if Adams committed a crime by engaging in bad with a minor.

On Thursday, FBI agents from the office's office in New York began to open a criminal investigation.

The agent speaking at Time senior officials from the Crime Against Children team seek to interview Ava and obtain SMS and any other evidence she has.

If the allegations appear credible, further investigative steps will be taken, including the appearance of Ava and Adams mobile phone registrations for their service providers. Ava's lawyer refused to comment on the case, as his family deliberated on the procedure to follow.

Adams' lawyer tells Fork that he was not contacted by the forces of law and order.
