The Undertaker sends wrestling fans into the cast as the shock return is revealed

The WWE status of the Undertaker remains a mystery within two months of WrestleMania 35.

The seventh world champion is not yet scheduled to be part of the Showcase of the Immortals in New Jersey on April 7th.

But no matter if he appears at MetLife Stadium, fans can see it elsewhere this spring.

The team behind All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has had a wave of success since Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks kicked off the promotion, backed by Shahid Khan of Fulham.

Kenny Omega – AEW sold its second big event, Double or Nothing, in record time.

In addition to the payout at the May 25th, Las Vegas will also host the second annual Starrcast event – an AEW affiliated fan convention where many AEW talent will be present.

But no one expected The Undertaker to be involved, until his participation in the festival that lasts more than a weekend, with more than two dozen live wrestling shows, is confirmed tonight.

Taker has been synonymous with WWE throughout his career. Debuting at the Survivor Series in 1990, the Deadman was hailed as one of Vince McMahon's most successful creations.

Recently, though, 53-year-old Mark Calaway has removed references to WWE from his social media, fueling speculation that he will be done with the federation.

Rumors were circulating online that he was a potential candidate for this year's Hall of Fame, although these plans could be suspended after announcing his arrival at Starrcast.

Ric Flair is already confirmed, as well as former stars of WWE, Sting and Lita, but today's unveiling has surprised the wrestling community.

Although Taker will be appearing on a UK tour and at the For the Love of Wrestling event later this year, his appearance at Starrcast will be his first major US rendezvous away from the WWE.

And with AEW seen as an emerging force ready to challenge Vince McMahon's grip on the sector, this will undoubtedly provoke such a strong response from the McMahon family as the online one.

With many former WWE talents, such as Chris Jericho, affiliated with AEW, the fight landscape is changing rapidly and the hype around Cody Rhodes' recent promotion is growing day by day. Even if The Demon of Death Valley does not compete for promotion, other people might do the same.

Starrcast's founder, Conrad Thompson, told Sports Illustrated, "I know people can badume that it's an AEW event, but that's not true.We have wrestlers appearing in all promotions from around the world, and Starrcast is not just for All Elite Wrestling fans, it's for all fight fans.

"The Undertaker is synonymous with struggle and generations of fight fans have grown up with The Undertaker.We wanted to bring something unique to Las Vegas, and there is no one more special in this business than The Undertaker. "

Thompson, the famous wrestling podcast host, coordinated the first Starrcast in Chicago last summer around "All In", the independent show presented by many of AEW's greatest artists.
