Richard Commey received a heroic welcome at Kotoko International Airport after he stunned Isa Chaniev to win the IBF bracelet in the United States.

As it was the second time Commey attempted the IBF webbing, he had lost his first controversial attempt against Robert Easter.

Richard Commey had to face WBA lightweight champion and WBO Vasyl Lomachenko in the unification, but this fight was halted due to an injury suffered during Chaniev's fight. Commey will be away for six weeks and a new date should be announced for the first defense of his title.
