Sefwi Wiawso is the administrative capital of the newly created North West Region.
President Nana Akufo-Addo made the announcement Friday at a ceremony at the Jubilee House, where he also introduced the Constitutional Instrument to legally support the creation of the new region.
The delegations of traditional chiefs as well as the opinion leaders of the region attended the ceremony.
This is the fifth of six new regions created to receive the legal instrument after the Northeast, Savannah, Bono East and Ahafo regions earlier in the week.
The capital of the region of Oti should be presented Friday afternoon.
