Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu once again spoke of Philippe Coutinho amid repeated links with a return to England.
Coutinho is not yet really settled at Camp Nou since joining 12 months ago with his director. Ernesto Valverde claimed to have "abandoned" the Brazilian.
There were rumors that Manchester United and Chelsea – who would prepare for the potential departure of Eden Hazard – were interested in the services of Coutinho in January, the former club of the Brazilian international is also linked to Liverpool.
It never seemed likely that a movement would materialize in the winter window and the president of Barcelona, Bartomeu seemed to recently rule out a move this summer.
Reports said this week that Paris Saint-Germain is now in the running for 26 years in the saga of transfers – but Bartomeu has again poured cold water on rumors that Coutinho would leave.
"The club took a different path, with (Ousmane) Dembele and Coutinho, it was a bet that had to be followed," Bartomeu said.
"These are the two biggest investments in the history of the club in the signatures and we are 100% confident in this bet."
