A quarter of Premiership games will be held on plastic surfaces this season. Kilmarnock, Hamilton and Livingston will all use artificial terrain.
In a survey of players from the other nine Premiership clubs with lawn courts, PFA Scotland said Thursday they have reacted 100% against the use of plastic court.
Earlier this season, Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord agreed to give up some of the money earned by playing in Europe to get rid of the plastic courts of the Dutch first division.
And Gerrard said that he would support the fact that the biggest Scottish clubs do the same.
