When we think of Apple, we think almost immediately of the Mac, the iPhone and the iPad. But Apple makes a ton of other devices, from AirPods to batteries. And, with regard to the main products, Apple has of course the Apple Watch.
The first Apple Watch watch was announced by Tim Cook in September 2014 and the first version of the portable version of Apple was delivered the following year, in April. Since its birth, the Apple Watch has changed dramatically, especially since the beginning of its commercialization.
Let's take a look at a brief history of the Apple Watch to see where it is.
The original Apple watch
The first Apple Watch did not have a serial number, unlike the following Apple watches. Yet, there were actually three different lines of Apple Watch in its infancy. The first one was simply called "Apple Watch"-It was the Everyman stainless steel edition. Then there was the Apple Watch Sport with bands and an aluminum construction made to please athletes. And finally, there was the Apple Watch Edition in 18-carat gold.
As you can probably guess from the gold used to make the Apple Watch, it has been marketed as a fashion accessory and its price has reached $ 17,000. Needless to say, the Apple Watch edition was not sold at all and was discontinued the following year.
The original Apple Watch (all models) is available in 38mm and 42mm sizes, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Internet access required pairing with an iPhone. All also had a Digital Crown, Multi-Touch, Force Touch, Digital Touch and Side button. All also had an optical heart rate sensor.
Apple Watch Series 1 and 2
The following year, Apple unveiled its first update of the Apple Watch range. As already mentioned, the dear Apple Watch Edition was gone. They also got rid of the nickname "Apple Watch Sport".
Instead, Apple renamed an updated version of the Sport (because it had an aluminum construction) on Apple Watch Series 1. They have slightly lowered the price to make it the new entry-level model affordable for most people. It retained features similar to those of the original Apple Watch: a digital crown, a touch interface, a touch key, a touch key and a side button.
Apple also introduced the Apple Watch Series 2 this year. This model still has an aluminum body, but its main point of distinction is that, unlike Series 1, the GPS of Series 2 is integrated. This means that you no longer need your iPhone badociated with your Apple Watch to obtain location data.
Apple Watch Series 3
The following year, Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 3. The big difference here is that Series 3 has added a cellular option. For the first time, the watch itself could connect to its own mobile internet, eliminating the need to pair the device with your iPhone.
Apple Watch Series 4
the Apple Watch Series 4 is, at the time of writing this article, the most recent Apple Watch. Inaugurated in 2018, Series 4 featured significant improvements over Series 3. The first is that Series 4 has larger screens. Instead of the 38mm and 42mm formats, the 4 Series is available in 40mm and 44mm formats, while maintaining approximately the same size as the 3 Series.
The other major improvement to Series 4 was the addition of an electrical heart sensor (ECG / EKG). This ECG allows users to control their heart rate at any time. If the watch detects a high or slow heart rate, it warns you even if you do not feel any symptoms.
