Manchester United Acting Director, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, believes that the absence of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard will create opportunities for other players on his team.
Solskjaer confirmed Friday that the attacking duo, injured in the defeat of 2-0 United in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain Tuesday, will be absent for three weeks.
He hinted that the candidate from the Mason Greenwood Academy would have had his chance had he been fit, but the Norwegian is confident that his team will be able to get out of it.
Although Alexis Sanchez is disappointed since arriving at Old Trafford since Arsenal last January, he can hope to have a race in the team now. Romelu Lukaku, Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes are also options for the fifth round of the England Cup in Chelsea on Monday night.
Solskjaer said: "[It’s a] luck for anyone who plays – Alexis, Romelu, Chongy or Angel. Anthony and Jesse have done very well for us.
"It's vital, but with Rom and Alexis, they have different skills and will be able to show what they can do.
"We just need to form a team together for Monday."
Greenwood, 17, may consider himself unlucky, but Solskjaer badured him that his luck would be.
Solskjaer said: "There [Greenwood] is hurt, unfortunately, for a few weeks too.
"Sometimes it's like that luck is going, but Mason will have a chance."
