As part of the government's efforts to end the growing threat of children on the streets of the country, particularly in the capital, Accra, plans are underway for the construction of shelters to house these people.

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice-President of the Commission, revealed it when he joined street children on Valentine's Day on Thursday 14 February.

He said the government was in talks with Pastor Cambell to find relief for the poor in society; this includes building shelters and looking for building plots, among other things, soup kitchens, to help street children find housing.

& # 39; & # 39; I have spoken to the Mayor of Accra and we are progressing very well in this regard. I think we will get the land to build the shelters not only for the street children, but also for the kayayes. & # 39; & # 39;

The vice president praised the initiative of parish priest Christ the King, Reverend father Andrew Cambell. He was impressed by the fact that he undertook to do something that only a few people in our society will think of doing.

& # 39; & # 39; The hardest thing is to care for others, it's not easy and that's why I want to thank Father Cambell and all those who prepared this soup kitchen, we talk about small lunch every day and that means many people have to make sacrifices to make this possible.

The vice president ended up advising children to stay out of deviance and drugs. He also encouraged them to keep hope alive, given the efforts of the Akufo-Addo government to solve, through an inclusive government, problems of this nature in society.
