Oyo INEC begins distribution of election materials

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), of the Oyo State Office, announced that it had started distributing ballots and results sheets to all of the 33 local governments of the state.

Journalists present at the distribution scene at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Ibadan reported that only agents of political parties from five political parties attended the exercise.

The agents were Gbenga Elegbede, Zénith Labor Party (ZLP), Niyi Olatunji, Democratic Action Party (ADP) and Taiwo Oduola, Providence People's Congress (PPC).

The agents urged the electorate to monitor the movement of equipment in each of the 33 local government areas.

The cast is overseen by Mr. Mutiu Agboke, Resident Commissioner Elections in Oyo State.

However, some ballots and result sheets for Oyo's central senatorial election and all sensitive documents for the presidential election had not yet arrived at the time of completing this report .

Agboke said that there was no need to worry about the late arrival of some materials.

"We decided to start distributing what is on the floor pending the arrival of other materials.

"As you can see, the distribution goes smoothly in the presence of party agents," he said.
