Former President John Dramani Mahama
It seems that former President John Mahama's presentations to the diplomatic community on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 are a mix of lies and truths.
Mr. Mahama invited the diplomatic community in Accra to present the position of the National Democratic Congress on the Ayawaso West Wuogon shooting and showed about two videos to the diplomats.
In one of the videos, the former president said he attended the funeral of Ayawaso West Wuogon MP, Emmanuel Agyarko, who died in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
While referring to the burial video, Mr. Mahama baderted that some people captured on the gang were rulers of power, claiming that one of the thugs wore an earloop and therefore could not be considered a national security officer because he believes the Ghanaian police personnel do not wear earrings.
In the second video, Mr. Mahama told the diplomats that the same thugs who had attended the funeral of the former MP had been brought to Accra on January 31, 2019 to ensure the safety of the NPP candidate for the first time. by-election, Lydia Seyram Alhbadan, the deceased legislator's spouse.
But it turns out that the video of the funeral concerned a dead policeman who had been shot by armed robbers in Manso Nkwanta, in the Ashanti region.
DGN Online's verifications revealed that the deputy corporal of the Ghana Police Service's Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT) was killed in July 2018 while on board a Sprinter bus with other police.
He also suggested that the Sprinter bus was registered under number AC-644-15 and had been attacked in July by gunmen armed with guns on the outskirts of Ayirebikrom.
The former president began to face attacks on social media for "cheating" the diplomatic community.
Ernest Gyabaa, a Ghanaian, shared his point of view on the video projections and explained in detail how much the burial video belonged to the last policeman.
According to Gyabaa, one of the videos that John Manama showed the diplomats claiming happened at the funeral of Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko was a palpable lie.
He stated that the video was a burial of the policeman killed in Manso Nkwanta.
He added that the funeral of the late cop had taken place at Akuapem Adukrom on August 18, 2018.
According to him, even the ground used for Mr. Agyarko's funeral was not covered with sod.
Mr. Agyarko was buried on January 28, 2019 in Odumase Krobo. He died in the United States in November 2018.
