Options for treatment of miscarriage should be offered to women: study

London: Although miscarriage is a traumatic experience for both parents, resulting in feelings of loss and grief that can sometimes lead to anxiety and depression, women who are miscarried should be able to choose the treatment they receive , suggests a study. Miscarriage is the most common complication of pregnancy and affects about one in four pregnancies.

For the results, published in the journal Human Reproduction Update, the team reviewed 46 trials involving more than 9,000 women who experienced spontaneous pregnancy loss (miscarriage) before the 14th week of gestation.
