Man Utd: the defender of Naples Koulibaly "satisfied" with the interest

The defender has been linked to a Naples exit and says he wants to demonstrate that he is one of the biggest advocates of the game.

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly is delighted to elicit Manchester United's declared interest and says he wants to prove he is one of the best defenders of the match.

Koulibaly, 27, has always been badociated with his departure from Naples, where he arrived from Genk in 2014.

United is among the many clubs to have credited his interest in the defender, while the center back continues to impress in Serie A.

And while the Senegalese international said he appreciated the interest of other clubs, he says he still has a high level of motivation to prove himself in Napoli.

"My future? I do not know if I am one of the strongest advocates. I always try to do my best," Koulibaly said. Rai Sport.

"Since I've been here, I'm still trying to grow up with Napoli.I have a lot of motivation to keep going and I want to keep doing it.

"I am happy that many teams are following me, but I want to demonstrate in the field that I am at the highest level and I want to show it in the future."

Koulibaly has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Napoli this season, the club being currently second in the standings.

Friday's win for Juventus leaves behind Carlo Ancelotti's team 14 points behind the leaders of the championship, who can however close this gap by facing Torino Sunday.

The club is also alive and well in the Europa League, where they won a 3-1 win over Zurich in the first leg of their 32 round played on Thursday.

Napoli is hoping to retain his central defender, especially after recently selling long-time hero Marek Hamsik to the Dalian Yifang Chinese team.

It is unclear what will be United's transfer plans this summer, given the uncertainty as to who will be their long-term manager, although the signing of a back-center seems to be a priority.

Before the dismissal of Jose Mourinho, the Red Devils seemed to want an agreement on Harry Maguire, while reports like those of Diego Godin and the central back Jamaal Lascelles, Newcastle, also attracted interest.
