The Venezuelan opposition envoy to the United States is trying to strengthen international support to help bring aid to his country.
But the United Nations, which still recognizes Nicolas Maduro as president of Venezuela, has called for talks.
About 50 UN member countries have announced their support for Maduro, while 65 countries, including the United States, support the opposition leader, Juan Guaido, who has declared himself president by interim.
