Human beings can not be good. Only God is good. Jesus says, "Nobody is good except one, that is, God" (Matthew 19:17). God is good. He can not be mean. Kindness is the essence of God. Nothing God does can hurt him. The goodness of God is not determined by his actions. On the contrary, it is the acts of God that determine what is good.

God says, "I kill and I give life. I hurt and I heal. "(Deuteronomy 32:39). Is God bad when he kills and hurts and only good when he makes alive and heals? Certainly not! God is good even when he kills. He can never be mean. Nothing of God can change his essence. God is good regardless of what he does. Whatever God does, that's good. Everything he does comes from his goodness.

The psalmist says, "Oh, thank the Lord, for he is good! For his mercy endureth for ever. "(Psalm 136: 1). "He who smiteth the first-born in Egypt, for his mercy endureth for ever" (Ps 136: 10). God is good and his mercy endures even though he has killed all the firstborn of Egypt. Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit of God: "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, kindness, self-control. "(Galatians 5: 22-23).

The man is naturally bad

Kindness is not man. It does not belong to human beings. The works of human beings are always sinners. Jesus says, "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." (John 3: 6) The man is flesh and God is spirit.

Paul says, "The works of the flesh are obvious, namely: adultery, fornication, impurity, carelessness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, disputes , jealousies, tantrums, selfish ambitions, dissensions, hordes, heresy, hordes, envy, murders, death, treats and the like; as I have told you before, as I have told you before, those who practice it will not inherit the kingdom of God. "(Galatians 5: 19-21).

It is not that the natural man can not do what is called good deeds. It is that his good deeds are worthless to God and represent nothing. Isaiah says, "We are all as unclean, and all our righteous are like filthy rags" (Isaiah 64: 6). In fact, what we human beings consider good is evil in the eyes of God. Jesus states this: "That which is high among men is an abomination in the sight of God" (Luke 16:15).

In order for the man to be good, he must change his essence. "Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard his spots? So, do the good that is used to doing evil. "(Jeremiah 13:23). To be good, a man must be born of God. Jesus explains this: "Humans give life to their children. However, only the Spirit of God can transform you into a child of God. Do not be surprised when I tell you that you must be born from above. Only the Spirit of God gives a new life. "(John 3: 6-8).

God is our creator

Only God can make the man good. Jesus says: "Either you make the tree and its fruits well, or you corrupt the tree and its fruits; because the tree is known for its fruit. A progeny of vipers! How can you, being mean, talk about good things? "(Matthew 12: 33-34). Who is the manufacturer? Who makes the tree good and the tree corrupt? is it God or is it man?

God is the creator. Job recognizes that God is his creator. (Job 35:10) The psalmist says that the Lord is our creator. (Psalm 95: 6) Paul maintains that God is the one who makes us what He wants us to be. "It's God working in you both to want and do for his pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

To do you must be

If someone asks you, "How are you doing?", Tell him, "I'm doing with God." If he asks you, "How are you doing?", Tell him, "I can not do without God."

The sin of Adam and Eve was to think that they could be anything else apart from God. But before you can do anything, you must be able to do it. Before you can get pregnant, you must be a woman. It would be a total waste of time for a man to try to be a woman. No matter how hard he tries, he will not do it.

It's the same to try to be good. Goodness is from God. Kindness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, goodness is of the new creation. To be good, a man must be born again. To be born again, is to be born of God. You become good when you are born again. You become sinless when you are born of God. John says, "Whoever is born of God does not sin, for his seed remains in him; and he can not sin, because he is born of God. "(1 John 3: 9).

The seed of man has an inherent sin; but the posterity of God is without sin. The born again Christian sin always because he always keeps the sinful seed in him. This explains the inner struggle about which God informs us throughout Rebecca's pregnancy: "The Lord said to him," Two nations are in your womb,

two peoples will be separated from your body; one people will be stronger than the other, and the greater will serve the youngest. "(Genesis 25:23).

What is good?

Is it good to describe a woman as a small dog? (Matthew 15:26) Is it good to call one of your closest companions "Satan?" (Matthew 16:23). Is it good to call some people whitewashed tombs? (Matthew 23:27) Is it good to overturn the turtle seller tables? (John 2:15) Jesus was "guilty" of all the above, but good nevertheless.

Is it good to marry a prostitute? Is it good to walk without pants? Yes, it is well provided that it is God who has told you to do it. This is good, provided that the reason you did it is for God's sake. "The end of the commandment is the charity of a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith." (1 Timothy 1: 5)

"So, Bob, what are you doing?" "I'm a mechanic." "I asked you what you do and not what you are." "I'm a mechanic." People have this trend to confuse what they do with what they do. are. The fact that you work as a mechanic does not mean that you are a mechanic. I have never met a mechanic man before. But I have met men who work as mechanics.

The good is not determined by what you do. The good is determined by who you are. If you are good, you will do well. If you are bad, you will hurt. A good man can only do good. An evil man can only hurt.
