God has prepared me There are still several episodes to air – including a new installment tonight (CBS, 8 / 7c) – before the end of its first year. But given the recent revival of the show, TVLine was already looking for season final scoop when we caught up with co-creator Steven Lilien.
Fortunately for us, Lilian had some captivating riddles to tell about the potential romance of Miles and Cara, as well as the mystery of the divine account.
TVLine | Has the renewal impacted how you design the season finale?
You know what? That was not the case, because from the first day we knew exactly how we wanted to end season 1. We planned something very exciting for the end of season 1. The most exciting thing was to to be able to show the spin-offs and progress in season 2 and not leave it that way.
TVLine | What does the end of season and the final reserve?
Adam Goldberg will play against Simon Hayes and it's a huge bow for us. With Parminder Nagra, who plays Pria – she will return to the series – and Henry Chase, [we’ll explore] these three characters and their implication in the account of God. We will come to a resolution and give some answers at the end of the season.
TVLine | On which type of note finishes the final? Is this a big end of cliffhanger?
I think we're going to do something that may upset things a bit … and maybe change the dynamics a bit.
TVLine | In terms of romance, what can we expect? It's been a while since you tease this "will not they be / they will not be" …
I think that with Miles and Cara, the most delicate part of the moment is there is an attraction. The pilot felt it when he was on the catwalk and that he was looking at each other. … in the back half [of the season], they will really start talking about the idea of, and if they took a step forward? And if they started going out together? What would it mean for the relationship? And if it did not work, where would it leave them with the account of God? Because they are do such a thing right now, and is by bringing them together. But at the same time, it's hard to ignore their appeal. So I think our fans will be very excited about our future.
TVLine | Until now, you have played with the idea that there is a person behind the account of God. Is it possible that it is not a person, but that it is actually something much bigger and spiritual?
Of course. Our characters think they know who is behind God's account, but that does not mean they're right. Everything is possible. I think people will be happy with what we have at the end of the season, and there is a persistent mystery in season 2.
