AC Milan consolidated its place in the Champions League with a decisive 3-1 win over Atalanta in form on Saturday night.
Krzysztof Piatek stole the show for AC Milan with a magical recovery at the end of the first half to equalize after opening Remo Freuler's score.
Hakan Calhanoglu then took a goal behind the net to put the score at 2-1 and helped Piatek score his second goal in the match with a corner.
1. Problem finally solved
Krzysztof Piatek settled in San Siro during the winter transition period after Gonzalo Higuain wanted to leave the Rossoneri for Chelsea.
At first glance, in a risky transfer, Milan could become a jewel against Piatek and a real predatory attacker, which was probably missing from the team since the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Polish did not take long to win the hearts of the fans, scoring two goals against Napoli, adding one more to each of the following matches against Roma and Cagliari, and now a doubled in maybe one the most important games of the season. . All is well for the Milan attack, with the hungry Cutrone sitting on the bench.
2. Bak for good?
Once again a brilliant performance by Tiémoué Bakayoko. His physical presence was vital in the Rossoneri midfielder and he has done excellent races before.
Activating Bakayoko's 35 million euro right to purchase is fundamental, as it is currently the mainstay of the Milan midfielder. The Chelsea goalkeeper started the season badly, but after Biglia's injury, he tried his luck in the middle of the field and constantly improved his game.

He has shown his qualities many times, helping the Rossoneri stay in the battle for the top four despite numerous injuries. The French star recently said that he feels good at the club and that he would like to be part of it for a long time. and should be at the heart of the new AC Milan.
3. Rino do things well
Many people have criticized Gattuso after the poor form of his team until December and with good reason. However, it is important to highlight all the injury problems that he has encountered with his team with two key men vying – like Bonaventura and Biglia – as well as the suspensions and poor form of Gonzalo Higuain.
The Argentinian played seven games without a Serie A series and was frustrated permanently in the field, which did not help to improve the situation.

On the other hand, Gattuso's management seems to be developing with each match. The team has sometimes struggled to defend itself, but has conceded only five goals in the league since the beginning of December.
The Rossoneri look compact while defending their tactical awareness and they have also improved their pressure upstream. The Rossoneri have had two draws in two games against Napoli. With the purchases of Lucas Paqueta and Piatek, Milan seems to have regained its identity.
4. The dilemma of Hakan
Turkish international Hakan Calhanoglu has been rightly criticized in recent months for his poor performance.
He started the game against Atalanta at a slow pace but accelerated the pace in the second half and offered a positive overall performance since he scored a magnificent goal to give the advantage to his team.

– MilanGifs (@MilanGifs) February 16, 2019
The problem with Calhanoglu is that it is used on the left and that it does not have the rhythm to be effective in this position. An exciting moment in the game was his rotation with Paqueta. Number 10 played a more central role in the midfield and started to show good movement and pbad abilities, and of course, to score points.
There are several reasons why Calhanoglu is not used in the midfield. The first is that Milan has no other player left after failing to tackle this problem in the transfer window, the second being simply Gattuso who now uses a system in which Hakan feels comfortable to play more.
It is no secret that Leonardo is looking for a left winger after failing to sign one in the winter transfer window, but if he brings one in the summer, Gattuso will have to try to adapt his team to a second training in order to get the most out of Calhanoglu during group rotations for three competitions, hopefully. Or maybe Hakan is completely missing …
5. The tank stuck in the neutral
Franck Kessie joined AC Milan two summers ago with a loan with a purchase obligation worth 31.5 million euros. Despite his young age of 22 to 20 when he joined the team for the first time, Kessie played 54 games with Milan last season, scoring five goals and adding six badists.
The situation is not different this year: the Ivorian international just misses a match and has already played 28. An absolute tank as described by his fans, Kessie has a formidable physical presence on the ground, an endless energy, a relentless race throughout the match, recovering balls and making himself seldom noticed.

A big problem, however, is his contribution in the third part of the field. frustrating sometimes when he has to perform the final pbad or finish the attack himself. He said a few days ago that he knew what had to be better in his game..
If he developed this decisive and deadly instinct – which he could easily do since he was still very young – AC Milan would have a player who could be one of the best midfielders of the world.
