One person was confirmed dead as a result of a shootout at the Democratic National Congress (NDC) party office in Amakom, in the Ashanti region.
The police, who confirmed the death, named the deceased as Wasiru.
The shooting was reported after the Ashanti party's regional security task force clashed with the party's self-defense group, the Hawks.
A person who was also shot was reportedly in critical condition at Komfo Anokye University Hospital.
