Jordan Henderson: Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita begins to show the form that led to the £ 50 million transfer

Neth Keita is beginning to keep the promise that has spurred Liverpool to spend more than 50 million pounds on RB Leipzig this summer, said Jordan Henderson.

Jurgen Klopp often chose Henderson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho for the first months of the season.

However, the 24-year-old has experienced a change of fortune in recent weeks and may be recording his best performance since Bournemouth was defeated at Anfield nine days ago.

And Henderson, who himself joined the Reds as a young player, understands why it took his midfield colleagues time to adapt to a new football style and new expectations.

"Everyone can see how good Naby is as a footballer," he said.

"But as I know myself in Liverpool, it's such a huge club and especially as I go to the Premier League, it's tough. It takes time to adapt.

"He played very well in some of the games he played. I can see him getting used to the way we play and the manager helps him improve. I can certainly see the potential that emerges from him.

"But it takes time to feel at home, but in the last two games you can see the quality that he gives to the team and how excellent he is."

Liverpool will be deprived of talismanic defender Virgil van Dijk for his Champions League match with Bayern Munich tomorrow following a suspension.

Henderson acknowledged that the absentees of the Dutchman would be felt, but he encouraged his teammates to show that they could manage without him.

He continued: "He missed a lot, he played almost every game of the season. You can see how important it is for us as a team.

"At the same time, I feel that the team has enough quality to handle tomorrow night and not rely on our two half-centers to defend themselves. It's up to the whole team to do it together. I'm sure anyone who will play it knows the role and what is expected of them, but of course it will be a great loss. "

The club captain also declined to know if the Reds would give the race priority to conquer a first league title in 29 years on their European goals this season.

"If we had to choose, we would choose both. Whatever the competition, we give priority to play by game, "he continued.

"Tomorrow night, for us, it's the biggest game of the season, and so on.

"It will be like that until the end of the season. That's what we need to do. It is not a question of favoring a competition. We have a good team to face both competitions as best we can.

"Hopefully at the end of the season, we can be champions of at least one or both."
