EEuropean countries led by France and Germany reacted coldly to Donald Trump's request to take over the captured citizens who were fighting for the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil).
Germany said it would be "extremely difficult" to repatriate the Isil volunteers, while France said bluntly that this would not meet the US president's request.
