Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia escaped unharmed from a road accident involving his convoy on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
The driver of a commercial vehicle that was also involved in the accident unfortunately died.
The accident occurred around 6:30 pm on the Takoradi – Cape Coast road while the vice president was returning to Accra after a visit to the western region.
Some injured pbadengers and security agents have been transferred to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital and are responding to the treatment, according to a statement from Dr. Gideon Boako, spokesperson for Vice President Bawumia.
"The thoughts and prayers of Vice President Bawumia go to the wounded and the family of the deceased," the statement said.
