Evan Blbad provides an image on Twitter which, according to the press release, represents the supermodel LG V50 THINQ. A reputation in late January claimed that the LG V50 offers 5G support, as evidenced by the image.
The LG V50 is expected to land with the LG G8 in conjunction with the Mobile World Congress which will kick off this weekend. The Korea Times reports that LG wants to save the smartphone market affected by the loss by focusing on 5G devices. LG will also have indicated that the V50 will be available between March and April and that it is too early to launch a smartphone with a flexible screen.
The question is, however, how many consumers will be interested in 5G so early – especially when smartphones with 5G support seem to be much more expensive. In a Swedroid survey, 49% said they did not care whether a phone was equipped with 5G in 2019, while only 5% thought it was essential. However, in LG's South Korean home market, 5G could be more popular.
