The National Association of Ghana Graduate Advisers (GNACC) has invited private school owners and principals in the Greater Accra region to establish consulting departments to ensure quality education in their schools.
The GNACC said that counseling departments in the basic school system would help achieve high productivity, adding that the effects of coaching inadequate counseling have resulted in widespread social vices.
Cecelia Tutu-Danquah, president of GNACC, made the call at a workshop for private school directors in Accra.
The theme of the workshop was: Achieving Highest Productivity Through Quality Consulting.
Dr. Tutu-Danquah said that the importance of fast, quality advisory services for students, staff and parents in the school system can not be overstated.
She added that counseling services would also contribute to bridging the gap between the school environment and the home environment, saying that the challenges of the 21st century child could be met through childcare services. effective and efficient advice.
GNACC, in collaboration with the TUCEE Institute for Technology and Counseling, is developing a counseling program for schools interested in subscribing to professional consulting services.
As part of the program, selected staff members from different schools will receive training as certified advisors. Schools will also have access to a professional online counselor who will provide regular instruction on psychosocial challenges that negatively impact the school and social lives of students and staff.
Participants addressed topics such as: is counseling needed in schools, the challenges of the 21st century child, counseling for effective teaching and learning.
